Furniture Refinishing in Erie, PA

If you have old or damaged furniture that is in serious need of a facelift or repair work, don’t toss it quite yet. We have the perfect alternative. Bring your furniture to Dave’s Refinishing and we can work our magic to make an old piece look as good as new. If you aren’t sure if the piece can be saved, let our refinishers take a look, you’d be surprised what the right tools and right skill set can do. Oftentimes, good wood is hidden under layers of poorly applied paint or varnish. We can strip the worn pieces down and bring it back to life.

Our services include the following:
  • Antique Furniture Restoration
  • Chair Refinishing
  • Furniture Refinishing
  • Hand Stripping & Sanding
  • Painting & Staining
  • Piano Refinishing
  • Repairs & Regluing
  • Wood Restoration
  • And More!
We do all of our refinishing work by hand, which means no dipping. We also do not offer chair caning or piano tuning or restringing.

Keep in mind, before personally attempting to hire someone for antique furniture restoration, it’s important to do your research. Some pieces are worth much more without any restoration work. Consult with a professional to determine the value of the antique.

Our Process
Before we begin any refinishing or restoration project, we will give your piece a thorough cleaning to ensure we are starting with a clean slate. Sometimes after removing any dust, dirt and grime, a nice finish may be revealed. In this case, a good cleaning and buffing may be all you need to make an old piece look new again. However, this is not always the case. When it’s not, we will proceed with repair next. Some repairs are a quick fix and others require the eye of a professional. Our professionals handle all types of tough repairs, including replacing legs, regluing chairs, filing in cracks, and much more.

After all cleaning and repair work is complete, we move on to hand stripping and sanding all surfaces to smooth out any bumps and rough edges. After stripping and sanding, we’ll perform another deep cleaning to prepare the piece for staining or painting. Once we’re done with your piece, you will have a beautifully-refinished piece that looks as good, if not better, than it did when it was new.
